How we make money
Last updated
FairlyRanked is free to use, and you never need an account.
Affiliate commission
We plan to earn money through affiliate commission. When you follow a link from FairlyRanked to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay us a share of the sale, usually through an affiliate network that runs the programme for them. Using our links does not change the price you pay: the retailer pays us, not you.
Today there are no buy links on the site and we earn nothing from it: we have not yet joined an affiliate programme. When a network approves us, we list it below.

The Ad label
Every link that can earn us commission is labelled Ad, right next to the link, not only in a footnote. The label leads to this page.
Commission never affects the rankings
- Scores, badges and quick answers are worked out from the specifications alone, by the rules on our methodology page. They never read prices, retailers, offers or commission.
- The order of products on a category page follows those scores, or the sort you choose.
- When we show offers from several retailers, offers in stock come first, then offers out of stock, each group ordered by total price including delivery. Commission never changes that order.
- Nobody can pay for a score, a badge or a position, and we do not accept payment for rankings.
If we ever add sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled and kept apart from the scores.
